The Australian Taxation Office (ATO) has made available a search facility to help members find lost accounts. Known as SuperMatch, the facility has been provided for the sole purpose of assisting members locate and consolidate lost superannuation accounts or unredeemed superannuation monies.
There are two ways you can search for your lost super using SuperMatch:
Do-It-Yourself
You can go to the ATO web site and run the search yourself using your Tax File Number (TFN). The results are instant. Click here to use the ATO's SuperSeeker Tool.
Get us to do it for you
Download and complete a Super Match Form, send in to us, and we will let you know whether or not we find anything.
After you complete a SuperMatch Request Form and return it to our office, we can then conduct a search of the following Tax Office databases - Lost Members Register, Superannuation Holding Accounts Reserve, and the ATO Superannuation Guarantee records. Any amounts located in the Superannuation Holding Accounts Reserve or Superannuation Guarantee records will then be automatically transferred into your account in AMG Super without the need for any further instructions or forms from you.
If we find any accounts recorded in the Lost Members Register, we will let you know and send you an already completed Transfer Authorisation form for you to sign - these cannot be transferred automatically as they are held by other Funds, and not the ATO.
